Folder browser

Several dialog boxes require a name of a directory ( in Microsoft language also called 'folder' ). Normally there is a available that opens the 'Browse Folder' dialog.

The 'Browse folder' dialog consists of several parts.

Drive selector
Here you can select the desired drive ( harddisk, partition, logical drive, floppy drive, MO drive, etc. )
Drive info
Here you will find information about the selected drive like volume name, free space on that drive and the file system on that drive.
Current folder
The current folder is shown here. This is the selected folder if OK is clicked.
Subfolders
Here all the subfolders of the current folder are listed.


To move around in the directory ( = folder ) tree, there are several possibilities.

Move a folder up
To move a folder up, either click on or double-click on the two dots in the subfolders list ( red circled ).
Go into a subfolder
To change into a subfolder double-click on the name of the subfolder shown in the subfolders list
Add a new subfolder
A click on opens the 'Add new folder' dialog.

Here you can type in the name of the new subfolder and click on . The newly created subfolder will appear in the subfolders list in the 'Browse folder' dialog.
