The Image J Image Processing Program. If you liked NIH-Image you will love this. It is an open-architecture program similar to NIH Image, but it runs on ALL platforms that support JAVA and has many, many advanced features. While NIH Image could only deal with 8 bit images, this can deal with 16 or 32-bit images.

To open LSM files in Image J, you will need to download the appropriate plugin.
