Table II. Contingency tables of three wild type strains of Drosophila melanogaster arranged in three parallel truth tables. The truth is represented by the general somatic sex of the individuals determined by inspection of the fly abdomen and genitalia while a prediction of sex of those same or test individuals was made using a discriminant function (based on the analysis of the wings of individuals of the same strain) applied to the individual's wing landmark coordinates. The numbers and percentages tabulated represent the numbers of flies of that prediction category that were (or were not) in correspondence with the truth.
